Djurgarden and Vasa

The Djurgarden is a park on one of the islands near  the city center.  This is the view looking back across the bridge.
A main attraction is the Vasa.  This ship was built in the 1600's and sank in the first 15 minutes of its maiden voyage.  In the 1950s it was raised and restored.  You can imagine the scale of the ship by noticing the people on the balcony under the flag on the right.
The Vasa was to be the royal flagship and was decorated accordingly.
